Prof. LV Mabinya, known as Vido among friends and as Jan among childhood friends, had a giant heart, a humble soul and a quiet yet powerful demeanour. Prof. Mabinya spent his life in service of his family and his community. As a family man, he poured out his love for his wife, children and siblings and extended family at every opportunity he had.
Our leader has fallen and what shall we do now? uDanjana is gone and our hearts are broken. We have no choice but to trust that Gods will have its way. Ours is to pick up the pieces and believe that through Gods grace we can construct a life worth living. A life inspired by the values and spirit of our beloved leader.

The Mabinya family thanks you for your understanding. 3 sites have been organised for the live streaming of the main memorial programme. The main programme will be conducted from Fort Hare in Alice with satellite sites in King Williams Town and East London.
The Alice and King Williams Town sites are reserved for family and the East London site is available for friends and colleagues. You are required to register your attendance for the East London facility by clicking on the link below.
